This style is completely different from the mid calf boots with a wider tongue that fit my calves better.

Everything you could want in a boot: ankle support, no socks, no hooks. I am wearing knee pads that make them look like thigh highs, but the ankle height seems right. My second toe gets caught under while my pointing but i could have bought a bigger size as well. Im happy with what i got though!
