Shame on me for not reading reviews. It is Velcro around the top ankle strap and there's just something super unappealing about getting ready to give a dance and you hear Velcro ripping. 😂 I wear a 6.5 and ordered a 6. There's no wiggle room in the shoe unfortunately. But they are so cute.

I gravitate to the faux suede because it doesn't catch or scratch surfaces and I just love the look. If you feel the same and you're considering these shoes, I'd recommend selecting a light or neutral color. I love the deep burgundy suede but I should have bought the ones with the buckle, or the Delight with wrap around ribbon. The white velcro stands out in a way that I can't get over. Since they are secured with two small buckles in addition to the velcro I'm considering removing it. As hard as I try to line up the two sides to the velcro, the white is always visible. As I wrote, If you really love this style, I'd suggest a a different color. If you love the color, I'd suggest another style. As always, they are intoxicatingly beautiful and well made. Some things I'm just particular about, I suppose.

The strap is a little short so the self atachment thing is shoving, i always order a size up in high hels so the reset fits nice
